Special update about filing for Unemployment in WI

Governor Tony Evers today announced he is ordering the closure of all non-essential businesses starting Tuesday and urging people to stay at home to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

If you or a family member are affected by these new business closures you may be eligible to receive compensation for a portion of lost wages under Wisconsin Unemployment Insurance.

Governor Evers previous Emergency Order waived work search requirements during the declared emergency. Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is in the process of making necessary updates. Meantime, no action is necessary by claimants regarding work search.
